I mentioned before how much I enjoyed the Jefferson Building in Washington. The moment you walk into the main building, you are caught by surprise by the beauty and details of the architecture, paintings and tile-work. The area that you visit on a regular tour is only the front visitors section, as the building is much larger. This library is the largest library in the world by shelf space and number of books, not to mention all the new digital assets.
