It was dark and it had been raining. The others in the area looked like silhouettes against any light you could see in the distance. Then through the trees and crowds, you see them walking out of a field and you wonder if you fell through a time wrap. Combat soldiers looking like they’ve been on patrol for a week, wet and tired, but always watching.

The Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C. was eerie to experience in the dark and rain. The fact the statues had rain parkas on only added to the realism and drew you in to their moment.
