The Torch of Friendship, or La Antorcha de la Amistad, was donated by the Mexican government to the people of the city of San Antonio. The sculpture, made 50 tons of red steel, stands 65 ft tall and symbolizes the two parallel cultures, languages, and nations of Mexico and the United States, rising up together, and intersecting at the top.
