Not knowing a lot about the Buddhist religion, I wasn’t sure what the correct name of this sculpture after I visited the Hoi Thanh Buddhist Temple in southwest Houston. Trying to research it later led me on an endless chase trying to determine the correct name. It depends on what region of China or other Asian country would determine who it represents, as I saw many different names across the internet. I’m guessing if I had a chance to listen to our host, instead of taking my photos I would know the answer, but my assignment that day was specific for the photos.

Either way, it was a challenge to expose correctly without using fill-in flash (which I didn’t want to do) and balance it with the brighter background.
