Last week, two friends and I went to Galveston in hopes of shooting a sunset with the Bolivar Ferry in the foreground. While it looked like it might work from the maps we saw, what we didn’t expect was all the “stuff” around the pier and docks. It just would make for a good sunset photo. So off to Moody Gardens.

Their pyramids were not lit and were too far from the water to work at ground level. So we made “lemonade” from our lemons. We found the paddleboat “Colonel” docked quietly out back. We never did get the sun we hoped for, but the clouds were interesting and made for a nice backdrop.
