I recently spent several days on the beach and did something I’ve really never done, at least on purpose. I got up before dawn to watch the sun come up. Not once, but several mornings. Yes, I wanted to witness the beauty of each sunrise, but my main goal was to photograph them.

Each day I ended with a sunset too. In fact, I shot so many pictures, it’s going to be hard to whittle them down to a select few to show later. Otherwise, I’ll be showing sun shots for the next several months. I’ll try to scatter them out, so as not to bore you with too many, too soon.

The best thing I experienced while taking these was the feeling of solitude. A good kind of solitude. Just you, the camera, the view and a little patience. Add to that the breeze and sound of the waves and you have a great combination guaranteed to remove all stress and worries. That is, until you have to process all the pictures, try to pick your best ones, update the blog… uh oh.
