As a kid, most of us learned how to play checkers. Many of us will not play it again until we are confined in a rocking chair, maybe with a friend or with a grandchild. It does not require a lot of concentration and does not last too long. It is a simple game that anyone can play and enjoy.  

Put a checker board in front of a few rocking chairs and you immediately think a simpler time when things moved at a slightly slower pace than the lives most of us live today. These chairs were in front of a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Rosenburg, TX.
