Growing up in the suburbs, I haven’t had a chance to “rough it” in the country as much as I would like. When I do have the opportunity to get out of town, I appreciate the open spaces, the trees and even the silence that it offers.

Though not what I would consider a great vacation resort, this small cabin is where I might enjoy spending a few nights away from the city. Listening to the wind blow through the trees is much nicer than the sounds of cars buzzing down the street. I’m not sure, but I’m hoping there’s a microwave and big screen TV inside and a bottle of mosquito repellant on the porch.

This was taken at Camp Tejas, close to Giddings, Texas.
