I have lived in Houston more years than I care to admit and have never been in the main downtown library. That is until a few weeks ago when I attended a photography meeting. Knowing that we would finish around sunset, I brought my camera gear. I had a chance to walk around outside and to my surprise, discovered there was the older, original building next door to the more modern and much larger structure.

The original building has much more charm and character, which contrasts with the taller, glass structures of downtown. This is a view just inside the courtyard, looking off to one of the wings.
