For the past few years, I’ve seen these large hay bales out during the fall. I’ve wanted to take a few photos at sunset, but never seemed to have the opportunity before they would haul them away.  With good rains during the past winter, we had them again for this spring. So I found an evening when I could go out and as luck would have it, things turned cloudy and windy late in the day. But I hung around, hoping for a late burst of sun, which never came. I did get this small peak though, which helped make this image.

Though it wasn’t perfect weather conditions, I”m glad I went, as the hay bales were gone the next day. It use to be that they would sit there a few weeks. Now they’re gone in a few days. Ranchers are just getting too darn efficient.
