What child doesn’t like to play in a stream? Water rushing over rocks, pebbles to throw and if you’re lucky, a small fish or two to see. For the angler, it means an opportunity to find a calm area where the fish might be biting. And for almost anyone else, it’s a place to sit in a shady spot with your shoes removed, let your feet dip in and cool off. Any way you look at it, there’s something for everyone.

This gentle stream is by the Graves Mountain Lodge in Virginia.
