Harbors are fun places to visit. It’s like a living organism, since things are always moving. Boats and people are coming and going or just moving about. Boats that are sitting still, are really not since they are bobbing up and down. The sounds of the boats pulling on ropes, water splashing on the docks and birds flying about reinforces the life of the harbor.

Late in the evening and through the night things change. With the calming of the water, most people leave and the boats slow their rocking. Things are quite now and the water on the piers is the only sound for those that might be trespassing on the quiet of the night.

These rowboats are from the Folkestone Harbor in England, just down the road from Dover. The sun was starting to set and already the little harbor was settling in for the evening.
