Certain people in history will never fade into obscurity and many of those are memorialized at our Nation’s Capital. Abraham Lincoln may not have been a founding father, but his efforts in our country’s darkest hour was just as remarkable.
As an American, the Lincoln Memorial is one of those destinations you go to because you want to and feel you are suppose to; a pilgrimage of sorts. You can tell it’s a special place when you enter and you are slow to want to leave. From a photo standpoint, there isn’t a lot of color, too many people to get a clean wide shot and snapshot cameras using flash everywhere. But you reverently go about looking for the shot that will remind you of the experience of being there in person.
