This summer, the state color of Texas is brown. The drought has turned my grass to hay. I’ve lost a tree and a few bushes to boot. I try watering the yard almost every evening, but there’s little water pressure, since my neighbors are doing the same thing. You take a ride through the countryside and you’re shocked at how much brown and so little green there is. It’s no wonder there are so many wildfires to battle.
As you drive around town, those businesses or homes that have flowers to show stand out like a beacon of hope. Hope that it will rain one day soon, the grass will turn green and the flowers will return.
