Windsor Castle is much more than what you imagine when you think of a castle. It’s a large fortress made of many buildings set, within a beautiful, landscaped complex.
An official royal residence, Windsor Castle serves as the weekend home for the Royal Family and includes Windsor’s State Apartments and St. Georges Chapel. Each king or queen has added something to the complex to leave their mark on the stately residence. Just over twenty miles from London (a day’s march for troops), it should be included in any tour you might take when visiting London.
