On a recent trip out to shoot a sunset, I thought it might be fun to capture the capture of a sunset. It was kind of a spur of the moment experiment, but those can often produce surprising results. So I took out my iPhone and took a couple of HDR shots on it. The image it created was interesting, but not as good as the individual images brought back into the HDR program called Photomatix. I use that application on many of my HDR images, so I tried it on the iPhone images. The final image had more tonal range but still a lot of noise. For this final image, I reduced the noise level some, which helped. I did use the iPhone HDR photo, as I posted it on Facebook while I was still there shooting.
