Everyone so often, I get this feeling before I leave the house, that I should take my camera with me. Truth be told, I should always have one at the ready (something more substantial than my iPhone, that is) in case I come upon something I want to shoot.

Such was the case a week ago. It was a pretty Saturday morning and the sun was out for the first time in many day. As I drove into Katy, TX, you couldn’t miss these two Union Pacific engines parked off the highway. My trip would have to be delayed a few minutes, as I found a close place to park and walked over to the vantage point I had seen from the road. I tried several other spots too, but my first look upon the scene was still my favorite.  I pays to keep that camera close by.
