In 1979, a two block long park in downtown Houston was opened to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the first lunar landing. Tranquility Park is a collection of water and walkways, with mounds and depressions meant to represent the cratered lunar surface, while huge stainless steel cylinders were designed to resemble the Apollo’s rocket boosters.

I’m not sure I feel the connection with the lunar surface, but it is a pretty place to sit and have lunch on a weekday, or enjoy a sunset in the evening.
