Dover Castle, the largest castle in England, is a great place to go exploring. With underground war tunnels, beautiful rooftop views and interior living quarters, there is something for everyone to enjoy. It’s full of history, from the 12th century, all the way up through World War II.

This recreation of the Throne Room provides some insite as to how it might have looked in the medieval times. As formal as it is, I doubt if I would have enjoyed sitting in those chairs for very long. This area of the castle was up several flights of wide, winding staircases. With each flight, I thought I would find the roof, only to discover a new floor. This was one, very large castle.
