Many people are fascinated with Egypt and everything associated with the ancient culture. But most of us will never make it to the distant land to tour its museums and sites. But for Houstonians, you do not have far to travel. The Houston Museum of Natural Science has a great collection of artifacts gathered from around the states and beyond in the new Hall of Ancient Egypt. The highlight of the tour is the mummy room (that is probably an unofficial title) where a half dozen or so sarcophagi lie resting in dramatic lighting. Yes, it is a bit dark, but that only adds to the mystery and excitement.
