A bridge is an interesting item, as it has multiple personalities. It has a different feel whether you look at it from the top or from a distant. The Fred Hartman Bridge is a really interesting structure with its unique support towers. At night, it lights up nicely and creates some great reflections. Spanning the Houston Ship channel between Baytown and La Porte on Highway 146, it replaced the old Baytown Tunnel which was removed to enable larger ships to enter into the Houston Ship Channel.
