No one ever wants to go to war, but in retrospect, World War II was a great time for aviation. Great leaps in naval aviation, the jet fighter and many other advances were made. It’s amazing how much technology seems to improve during times of battle.

This recreation of the USS Cabot light carrier can be found at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida. Built using original plans, the USS Cabot (CVL 28) island provides visitors with a perspective on the size of the light carrier. Above and on deck you will find warbirds from that era.
