I must admit to not being much of a bird watcher. Maybe that’s because there isn’t a great variety of birds in our area. Then again, maybe there are, but I just haven’t learned to tell them apart. One bird that is easy to spot here is the mockingbird. It’s the State Bird of Texas and it isn’t hard to miss. They sing up a storm sometimes and will dive bomb someone if they get too close to its nest. Their distinct wing markings and shape make them easy to spot. Okay one down. How many species do I have left?
