There is something nostalgic about a street lantern. Sure it provides light at night, but it also adds character and charm to whatever area it adorns. On our last evening in Austin, I found these beautiful lanters at the Texas State Capitol. 

Sometimes I have to remind myself to look at the details and not only the larger, more obvious subjects. These lanterns jumped out at me after I got over the grandeur of the Capitol Building itself. Their large size and detail add to the beauty of each doorway of the majestic building.
