It’s a common ritual at many touristy beaches to see someone with a metal detector roaming the shore. They’re usually out in the early morning, before the crowds and the heat move in. The regulars can usually share a good story or two on the treasures they have found, maybe a rare coin, an expensive watch or other fine jewelry. I’ve even thought about borrowing one to give it a try.
But as some of us may already know, the real treasure is right in front of them. The majesty and wonder of the new sunrise, ocean and shoreline give tribute to His creation.
