While in college, I drove a bright yellow 1973 Mustang. I never modified the drivetrain to make it go faster, but I did a lot of cosmetic work to make people think I did. I participated with the local Mustang club and even showed it at several car shows. At the time, I had a lot of fun with it. Though I knew it was not a fast car, I still enjoyed the thought that it was something special.
Now for something really special. During the 2007 Geneva Auto Show, Lamborghini debuted the Gallardo Superleggera with an emphasis on weight reduction. The Superleggera was lighter than the base Gallardo by 220 pounds with the use of carbon fiber throughout the car. Plus, the engine output was upgraded to 523 hp, with a six-speed transmission.
In March 2008, Lamborghini ceased production of the Gallardo Superleggera, having made 172, with 10 in white, 34 in grey, 37 in black, 45 in yellow, 46 in orange and 1 was custom painted in pink.
The idea of having one of only 45 is indeed pretty unique.
