They say crossing the English Channel can be a bit bumpy, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, which in England, it rarely does. We were able to cross on an exceptionally beautiful morning in late June. The large ferry we took was probably the largest ship I have been on to date and the ride was as smooth as you could have hoped for.
The line of cars and trucks waiting to board was longer than I expected and you still had to go through customs, so it wasn’t a speedy process. Once on board though, it was relaxing and a fun experience. The view of the white cliffs of Dover was especially great as the boats left the harbor, starting on the twenty-two mile voyage toward the mainland of Europe.
