For many special events, people send flowers as a way to say many things; I love you, I’m sorry, congratulations and many others. During times of grief, flowers are given as a way to say we’re sorry and we understand your pain.

While we might not remember the exact arrangement, number of buds or other specifics, we will remember that someone thought enough to want to make a difference. Remember how that made you feel. Then return that feeling to someone else who could use a little bit of encouragement or cheer. You’ll feel better that you did too.

This is an iPhone image of some flowers from a visit to a hospice. I won’t go into details, but they helped at that time too.
