Being the frugal person I am, I’ve never been one to waste money. The thought of buying candles to burn was synonymous with burning my money. It’s funny how things change once you get married.
I have since learned that women have this thing about candle light, accompanied by a scent that reminds you of something from outside or the kitchen. My wife once bought a candle that smelled like blueberry muffins and I was always disappointed when I came home from work to find there were no muffins, just a candle burning. That’s just cruel.
But the holidays seem like the perfect time to light the fireplace, or in warmer climates, a nice candle and enjoy the aroma and atmosphere. Just try not to think of it as your money going up in smoke.
