There are many things to see and do at our Nation’s Capital. With all the museums and large monuments, it’s easy to miss the smaller gems that you find everywhere. We found such a statue in the James Madison Memorial Building, part of the Library of Congress. It was a statue of none other than James Madison, the fourth President of the United States. Little did we know that we would find the smaller, original version at his home, Montpelier, in Virginia on a tour a week later. You could tell the security guards were not use to many tourists and seemed surprised we wanted to see the statue, even though a sign outside invited you to come in and see.
